Baseball season has been over for little over a month but we wanted to share our favorite moments from Bailey’s first season. Brian and I both played baseball/softball and couldn’t wait until Bailey was old enough to share in our favorite sport.
We had practiced over the summer with our tee and she started showing off her slugger status early. She prefers to hit from a pitcher instead of a tee, but either way loves to bat.

Following Directions
One of the most impressive things from her first season of baseball was her strength in following directions. There was a lot going on throughout the practices and she followed both her coach and Daddy’s instruction well.

Teamwork
Unlike Mini Soccer, teamwork really came into play with Baseball. They did lots of drills where they had other player interaction, cheering each other on and sharing the equipment. Bailey was very good at sharing. She was one of the only girls on the team and enjoyed beating some of the boys, but one of our most proudest moments was when she was racing another little boy and he slipped and fell. She stopped, helped him up, gave him a hug and got back into racing with him once she knew he was okay. We couldn’t be prouder of our little bug!
She also was quite the popular one with the little boys, much to the dismay of her father. We caught her flirting a few times and couldn’t help smiling, especially over her hair flip.

Pride
Empowering our girls is so important and sports are a great way to do that. Watching her gain confidence in her skill while having fun is something we are so grateful for and hope to continue in the future. Whether baseball, soccer or dance, we are going to let her decide what she wants to pursue. We just couldn’t be more proud of Bailey as she tries new things!

And don’t forget little sis! Sienna had a lot of fun watching Bailey and getting out on the field to run the bases after practice. She also got lots of time to spend with Grandma, Grandpa and Uncle Mat while Bailey was on the field.

We want to send a special thanks to Olathe Parks & Rec for putting together another excellent program with great coaches. We are so lucky to live in an area where youth sports are so invested in. And in case you missed it, our little soccer star made it into the Winter Activities issue and she is pretty proud!
We hope you and your family are enjoying the holiday season! We’ll be posting more soon!Â
