Thankful for Us – Thanksgiving 2018

Posted on 4 m read

Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours! Even though we are thankful everyday of the year, this season we reflect on our blessings and look forward to spreading some extra holiday cheer.

Family

I cannot put into words how truly thankful we are for our family. We have two beautiful girls that bring so much sunshine and joy to our lives. Watching them grow into fierce, kind and compassionate little ladies is the biggest blessing and we are forever grateful to be their parents.

Bailey amazes us every day. She has grown so much in the last few months and we are so proud of the little lady that she is becoming. She is excelling in school and has learned so much already, but most of all she has shown to be so kind to her classmates and helpful to her teachers. She loves to dance, build and use her imagination, draw and paint, read, dress up and help around the house. She forever changed our lives for the better and we are so thankful that she calls us Mommy and Daddy.

Sienna is becoming such a spirited, spunky and energetic little girl. She has grown by leaps and bounds (literally and figuratively) and is running, leaping, dancing and singing everywhere she goes. She is so full of energy and makes us laugh all the time. She loves Frozen and The Greatest Showman with an unrivaled passion. She is a true animal lover and has a sweet soul…but can throw a temper tantrum with the best of them. She has completed our family and brought so much laughter and joy!

Tequila continues to put up with us and we are so thankful for him. He is so great with the girls and is their big protector. He may have mellowed a bit, but can still be a feisty rascal when he wants to be.  We love you Bubba!

The glue to our family and the one with so much patience and strength is the one I am so thankful to call my husband. Brian always has a positive spin for everything, he makes us laugh and works so hard for our family. He is the best husband and Daddy and we are so blessed to be able to call him ours. Love you babe!

I am especially thankful for my parents and my brother Mat. They have been there for me since day one and I am thankful for all the love and support they have given me through the years, but especially with all the help they provide for our young family. I am blessed that they we can call them for anything – when we need a hand with the girls or house projects, an emergency room run, a shoulder to laugh or cry on and advice on just about anything. I am so thankful that my girls get to spend so much time with them, they light up at the mention of Guh Guh, Pop Pop or Uncle Mat and love them so fiercely. Guh Guh, thank you for being their everything – and for being so much more to me. Pop Pop, you are always Mr. Fix It, the best shoulder rides and extra hugs that make everything all better. Uncle Mat – you are the coolest Uncle ever, can help them fly and even though you like the bad guys, we love you so much!

We wish Brian’s family lived closer but we are so thankful that we get to spend time with them throughout the year. We cannot wait to see you today and spend the weekend with you! Pop Pop Ray Ray is the best builder of towers to be wrecked, baseball coach and worm hooker when we’re fishing. Grandma Schorr, we love to read and play princesses with you, play dress up and do yoga with. Granny, the girls love telling you stories, showing off their pretty dresses and snuggling with you on the couch. We are so thankful for you and look forward to a full weekend of fun!

Friends that feel like Family

We are so thankful for our friends that we have always thought of family. We may not see you all that much, but every time we do it feels like no time has passed. From all across the country, we love keeping up with you through calls, texts and social media. Thank you for the grace you give us during our craziest days. We hope to see you more and spend time with you over the holidays and next year!

Health

We know so many that have been battling with health issues this year and several that have lost their fight. We are very thankful that we have our health and the resources to keep it strong. Sending love and prayers to those that have lost their health battles this year and those that need extra prayers for the battles they are continuing to fight.

Community

Home is where your heart is, but when you live in such an excellent community, you feel additionally blessed. From the schools to our neighbors, we are so thankful that we are surrounded by amazing people, beautiful parks and a variety of family friendly activities all year round.

We hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend! Love to you all!

Let it Snow – November 2018

Posted on 2 m read

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! I love watching it fall in big flakes like a giant snow globe – it’s so peaceful. From sledding to snow ball fights, I was always the first out in the snow and last to come back inside. Now that I’m a mom I love it just as much – seeing it through my girls’ eyes and watching them explore. Getting snow this early in the season has been a treat, especially as it has been so mild the last few years. I know most people are complaining about it already, but I’m going to enjoy it and try to stay off the roads if I can!

Bailey is obsessed with snow. From the first big flakes we got last week, all she talks about is going outside and making snow balls. When it started coming down on our way to school this morning she was so excited and when I picked her up she immediately started dancing and prancing around in the snow. She had to point out several times that they wouldn’t let her play in the snow at school, but I told her we would make up for it as soon as we got home. We even got enough to do a little sledding today!

Sienna has more of a love-hate relationship with snow. She loves going outside, sledding and walking in the snow. She hates wearing gloves/hats, getting a snow ball to the face and falling in the snow. You would think that her intense love for all things Frozen would make her as obsessed with snow as her sister, but our little Elsa hasn’t found her groove just yet.

As much as the girls love snow, there is one that will always love it more…Bubba! He loves digging, rolling around and chasing the flakes around the yard!

We even had enough snow to make Simply Snow Ice Cream! Sienna was sleeping off a face full of snow but Bailey had a blast making it. Hope you are all safely enjoying the snow today!

We are a little behind on blogging but will be adding new posts this week so stay tuned!

When it snows, make Simply Snow Ice Cream! Using only 3 ingredients, you can make a delicious treat that your kids will have a blast preparing. Add your favorite toppings and make it your own. Don’t have condensed milk on hand, grab some milk and sugar and you are all set!

We’ve been talking about making this since the first flake fell and Bailey was excited to make it after an afternoon of sledding.

Mix vanilla and condensed milk in a chilled bowl. Add snow one scoop at a time.
Mix well
Add your favorite toppings and enjoy!
