When life gets a little crazy, take a breath and look around. There is beauty everywhere, you just have to look. Especially when you are in the middle of the Sunflower State. The last couple of months haven’t been the best for us, but in the midst of the chaos and sickness, we found out we would be adding another little one to our lives and are so grateful for the love and support we have recieved.
Last night we packed up the girls and headed over to our favorite end of summer place, Grinter Farms. This year was hard for them with all the rain and then hot weather, the seeds didn’t get planted early enough and the heat disrupted the growth. But they still had a beautiful field of sunflowers by their general store. We are so fortunate that they continue to do this every year and will continue to come back.
Bailey – Our Sunflower Pro
When it comes to photographing two kids, things can get a little messy. Luckily Miss B loves to have her picture taken and she handles our impromptu photo shoots like a pro. She’s also really respectful of her surroundings and makes sure to stay out of other people’s way and doesn’t try to pick the flowers.
Sienna – The Teeny Terror in the Sunflower Field
Ok, that may be a little much, but Sienna is definitely a lot harder to track down. She was running all over the fields and she’s just short enough to get lost. Let’s just say at one point she was covered in dirt and looked like she had a mouthful, but she did make us laugh. Fortunately we were able to tie her down for a few shots.
We are a Sunflower Family
Trying to get a shot of more than one of the girls at a time can be challenging and we definitely go through a lot of outtakes. But spending the time together in a beautiful setting makes it all worth it. I love my little tribe!
Hope you are able to take a breath and enjoy the beauty that surrounds you today! We’ll be posting soon about our latest home renovation, so stay tuned!
